Why Parker Becoming Popular Among NCIS Fans..?

After 19 seasons on CBS, “NCIS” has developed an incredibly loyal fanbase, and Season 20 is just around the corner.

A solid cast with whom audiences develop an emotional connection is one of the most important factors in gaining a fanbase for any popular show. Many of the original main cast members have a special place in the hearts of fans.

Leroy Jethro Gibbs (Mark Harmon), Anthony DiNozzo (Michael Weatherly), Ziva David (Cote de Pablo), Timothy McGee (Sean Murray), Dr. Donald “Ducky” Mallard (David McCallum), Jimmy Palmer (Brian Dietzen), and Abby Sciuto are frequently on this team (Pauley Perrette).

However, these team members gradually faded over the seasons, with Pablo and Weatherly leaving, Sciuto leaving abruptly, and, of course, Mark Harmon leaving “NCIS” as the character of Gibbs during Season 19.

Even McCallum isn’t seen much anymore, except as an NCIS historian, after claiming that the character is becoming redundant.

Aside from Murray, Dietzen, and Rocky Carroll’s Director Vance, “NCIS” has a lot of new faces on the team as Season 20 begins.

Former Senior FBI Agent Alden Parker is one of the new faces expected to fill Gibbs’ position on the Major Case Response team (Gary Cole). Despite the fact that this is undoubtedly a difficult task, fans appear to be warming up to the character.

Parker is adored by NCIS fans because he does not try to imitate Gibbs.

According to a recent Reddit thread, “NCIS” fans are gradually welcoming Alden Parker into the senior role that Leroy Jethro Gibbs previously held on the show. U/FS1120 started the conversation by explaining that they refused to watch “NCIS” after Gibbs left, despite eventually giving in and growing to like Parker.

“When Gibbs left, I felt that was it for me and didn’t bother watching the subsequent episodes.” I’ve now gotten up to [episode] 9, and Parker has really grown on me. I believe it’s because they didn’t try to turn him into a Gibbs clone or some kind of hard case who felt the need to impose their personality on the team. “So far, he seems likeable,” they said.

Other fans, including u/Jessie Lynn 85, would concur. They stated, “I was also strongly opposed to Parker at first. But now that the season is over, I actually like his character… He’s his own person who contributes to the team.”

Gary Cole has stated that he does not intend to play the iconic character established by Mark Harmon in the show’s history. He stated to TV Line, “I’m not attempting to imitate [Gibbs]. That distinction was made by the authors.”
