When Will ‘NCIS’ Season 19 Return With New Episodes?

blank

On December 6, NCIS aired the ninth episode of season 19 titled “Collective Memory.” However, the show is currently on a brief hiatus. Will there be another new episode or two before the year’s end? Wasn’t the most recent episode the season finale?

Season 19 of ‘NCIS’ has seen a lot of changes.

At this point in the season, it’s no secret that NCIS mainstay Mark Harmon — Leroy Jethro Gibbs — left the show in episode four. He’d been the boss since before the first episode aired in 2003, when Harmon played Gibbs in a JAG episode that doubled as an NCIS backdoor pilot.

Harmon’s tenure as the series’ lead appears to have come to an end after more than 400 episodes. When fans last saw him, he told McGee (Sean Murray) that he was staying in Alaska. Gibbs explained that after the d3aths of his wife and daughter, he had finally found some peace.

As Harmon left the show, Gary Cole stepped in as Agent Alden Parker. He’s taken over the NCIS team, but he’s not a carbon copy of Gibbs. Parker has a sense of humor, does not follow rigid rules, is far more technologically savvy, and believes in coincidences.

Following the departure of Gibbs, the CBS procedural has reverted to its case-of-the-week format.

NCIS returned to its original case-of-the-week format after cleaning up Gibbs’ storyline from season 18 and saying goodbye to him in episode four, which had been a departure in recent seasons.

Before season 19, showrunner Steven D. Binder told TV Line that one of the writers discussed returning to “interesting cases without any overarching arcs.”

“Out of 400-plus episodes, 360 are described that way,” Binder said. “But we haven’t been doing that for a while, so I think it’s time for us to sort of regroup and get back to telling good mysteries of the week with interesting characters, interesting stories, emotional hooks, and a satisfying ending.”

When will new episodes of ‘NCIS’ season 19 be released?

According to the CBS programming schedule, the NCIS winter finale was episode 9 “Collective Memory.” This means that it is the final new episode to air in 2021. However, the break will be brief. Rocky Carroll will direct the next episode, “Pledge of Allegiance,” which will air on Monday, January 3, 2022. (Director Vance).

“On the CBS Original series NCIS, Monday, Jan. 3 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network, and available to stream live and on demand on Paramount+,” the description reads. “NCIS is called in when Navy Chief Warrant Officer Rafi Nazar (Artur Zai Benson) is suspected of attempting to sell stolen classified Navy software used to pilot combat drones.”

Star Brian Dietzen has written an episode that will be aired in 2022.

NCIS fans can look forward to an episode written by Brian Dietzen in the second half of season 19.

Since season one, he’s played medical examiner Jimmy Palmer. However, this is the first time the actor has received a writing credit on the show.

“In a word… grateful,” Dietzen wrote in the caption of an Instagram post from November 25 that showed him holding his script. “You guys, I got to write a script for @ncis cbs with my pal @mostxsw [writer/executive producer Scott Williams], and it’s been a fantastic adventure so far.”

Brian Dietzen’s ‘NCIS’ episode will feature a familiar face.

Dietzen did not reveal the episode’s title in his post. However, his script indicated that it would be episode number “1913.”

This is the 13th episode of Season 19, but no air date has been set as of yet. According to TV Insider, Meredith Eaton will reprise her role as immunologist Carol Wilson in the episode Dietzen wrote.

“We’re overjoyed to be able to collaborate with Meredith Eaton again.” She’s a fantastic actor who adds a lot of energy to our show. “Since her last appearance in Season 11, we’ve been itching to have her back whenever her schedule allowed,” Binder explained.

“And now, with the team desperately in need of an expert immunologist, who better to come and save the day than Meredith’s beloved ‘Carol Wilson?'” “The only real question is whether she will arrive on time.”
