NCIS and its most recent spinoff NCIS: Hawai’i’s new seasons will premiere back-to-back on Monday, September 19th. However, NCIS: Los Angeles, the CBS drama’s original spinoff, does not air on the same night. So, now that we know the cast has returned for filming, when will the show premiere on television?
The new season of NCIS: Los Angeles began filming just a few weeks ago. The beloved drama will now return to CBS on Sunday, October 9th at 10 p.m. EST, according to Parade.
In addition, the outlet revealed the full cast list for the upcoming season of the hit drama.
Most importantly, fan-favorite special agents G. Callen, Sam Hanna, Kensi Blye, and Marty Deeks will return. Medalion Rahimi’s character Fatima Namazi, as well as Caleb Castille’s Devin Rountree, will return in Season 14.
Even more exciting, the showrunners of NCIS: Los Angeles have (finally) teased the return of the beloved character, Hetty Lange. Hetty Lange works as NCIS’s Special Operations Manager in the fictional world of NCIS: Los Angeles. Having said that, Hetty has been on a secret mission in Syria for the past season or so. Fans are now calling for her return. Finally, R Scott Gemmill, the showrunner of NCIS: Los Angeles, has agreed. Previously, Gemmill confirmed that Linda Hunt, Hetty’s actress, will appear in season 14. We’ll hopefully get to see her repair the damage done to her relationship with Special Agent G. Callen while she’s there.
‘NCIS: Los Angeles’ Crew Member Teases ‘Creepy’ Season 14 Set Location
With NCIS: Los Angeles season 14 in full swing, some of the show’s crew members have been gracious enough to take us behind the scenes. Rick Tunell, a crew member, recently tweeted that he and some of his coworkers had been scouting “creepy” locations for the show’s third episode. See his comment below.
Tunell is one of NCIS: Los Angeles’ production managers, according to this Outsider article. As a result, locating the ideal creepy location is likely to be in his wheelhouse on a regular basis. And, based on the image above, this setting certainly fits the bill.
A grate in the ceiling appears to be letting in a limited amount of outside light, while the room is filled with more blue-hued light. A trap door-like hole in the floor speaks to the setting’s multilayered creepiness, with two of its boards threatening to take us to the darkest depths of this unidentified location. The presence of what appears to be a boiler and an air duct system adds to the room’s uninviting atmosphere.
One fan commented, as did the rest of us, wondering how NCIS: Los Angeles producers find locations like this.
“How do you find places like this by asking around?” they wondered. “I adore it!”
According to Tunell’s response, NCIS: Los Angeles has a location department, so instead of aimlessly wandering the city streets of Los Angeles, the CBS drama has a team of professionals researching some of the show’s best and most useful backdrops and settings.
