NCIS star Maria Bello – who’s best known to CBS viewers as Jack Sloane – has left fans heartbroken after confirming she’s filmed her final scenes on the show in a touching social media post.
Prior to NCIS’ highly-anticipated return to CBS with season 18 last month, it had already been confirmed Jack Sloane (played by Maria Bello) would be saying her goodbyes in the coming episodes. Now with season 18 three episodes in, Sloane’s exit is nearing ever closer, a prospect daunting to a majority of fans. Ahead of what promises to be a tear-jerking farewell, actor Bello has already got the waterworks going amongst the fandom with a heartfelt message published on her Instagram.
Heading into the next episode of NCIS, episode four of season 18, the exact circumstances surrounding Sloane’s exit remain well under wraps.
There are a number of theories circulating as to how she may leave, however – whether it be to do with daughter Faith (Kate Hamilton) or a more deadly exit.
But before fans get to say goodbye to the team’s Forensic Psychologist, Bello issued a statement to bid the character farewell and extend her gratitude to the cast, crew and fans.
“And that’s a wrap for Jack Sloane @ncis_cbs!!!” Bello began, sharing a series of snaps from her time on the CBS drama.
“I’ve learned many things on this journey for the last three and a half years.
“I learned about commitment and community. I’ve learned that the woman I am enjoys process over product. I’ve never worked with a kinder, more generous group of people.
“I only had the privilege of standing by Dom’s side during cancer because my producers worked so hard to make sure I was there for every treatment.
“I made a speech today for our crew. Though in our business, like many, there are quite a few assholes – there is not one on the set of NCIS – in front of or behind the camera.”
Bello went on to add: “Only a profoundly decent group of people who care more about each other and the world in general than what is in it for them.
“I understand why this show after 18 years is the most-watched in the world – you must all feel our love.”
The actor then encouraged fans to stay tuned in, teasing many more seasons are in the pipeline.
“Keep watching,” Bello said. “I have a feeling there will be many more years to come. Thank you to all of my pals at NCIS and to all of our fans. I am truly grateful.”

Touched by Bello’s departing message, it didn’t take long for NCIS fans to send their well wishes to the star and thank her for being a part of the show.
In fact, news of Bello wrapping her last moments on the drama left some fans reaching for the tissues.
“Gonna miss you on the show so much!!” one fan replied, with a second admitting: “I’m sobbing [broken heart emoji] Love you.”
Another of her 148k followers added: “Promise me that you Will be back! We waiting for youuu.. pleasee.” (sic)
“Oh this is bittersweet,” commented a fourth. “I’m so thankful we have had you with the team. Wishing you all the best.”
A fifth added to the kind messages: “What a beautiful goodbye. Wish you didn’t have to go.
“Your strong and powerful character will be missed as you Maria will always be missed and loved. Enjoy your next chapter on life.”
While a sixth echoed the heartbroken sentiment: “Nooooo!!!! We will miss you on NCIS! [crying emoji].”
