NCIS LA season 12 spoilers: Kensi Blye in danger as criminal from her past returns

NCIS: LOS ANGELES season 12 will be back on CBS this week with an action-packed double bill. However, a first-look promo from the upcoming drama hints that a blast from the past could leave Kensi Blye in danger.

Kensi Blye (played by Daniela Ruah) has already faced her fair share of drama and difficult decisions following NCIS: LA’s return to CBS earlier this month. Kensi and hubby Marty Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen) are at somewhat of a crossroads in their relationship as they battle with the complications of buying a house, as well as tackling a fresh bunch of cases to land on the team’s desk. However, a first look at the second of Sunday’s double bill shows Kensi will turn to an unlikely source for help.

But will Kensi’s decision land her in danger? Here’s what we know from the first-look at NCIS: LA season 12, episode five.

The episode’s synopsis from CBS for episode ‘Raising the Dead’ reads: “In order to get intel on a matter of national security,

“Kensi must come face-to-face with a sociopath who has been obsessed with her since she put him in jail years ago.”

And in a screenshot from the episode, Kensi revisits the criminal in prison with, what appears to be, some rather sensitive intel in her hands.

The sociopath may be familiar to NCIS: LA fans too as he’s played by none other than the show’s producer Frank Military.

It’s easy to see from the promo that Kensi’s admirer is a dangerous individual as he’s kept behind thick glass away from Blye’s character.

However, it’s not known exactly what Kensi needs from the criminal – but it seems like a desperate step by the NCIS crew member.

After all, it’s relatively out of character for Kensi to turn to someone she’s put behind bars, especially if she’s going to show him sensitive information.

Could this man use Kensi’s pleas for help to his advantage from the inside and get revenge on her?

Having used the criminal as a last resort, Kensi may have to keep their dealings quiet and hidden from the rest of the team, leaving her solo.

And another tidbit of information from the show’s synopsis hints that Eric Beale (Barrett Foa) could be helpless to save Kensi from any threats.

CBS’ outline of the episode concludes [via Futon Critic]: “Also, though Eric is desperate to keep Kensi safe, he is forced to leave NCIS.”

And with Deeks’ job in the team also up in the air at the moment, Kensi may find herself in too deep after reuniting with the criminal.

Fans will have to wait until Sunday to find out for sure what this reunion will mean for Ms Blye.

Elsewhere, it looks like an emotional farewell for Eric will be on the cards.

He and romantic interest Nell (Renee Felice Smith) both returned earlier in the series after much speculation surrounding their futures in season 12.

But with Eric seemingly on his way out of the NCIS team, will he be gone for good?

And what will it mean for Nell, is she on her way to heartbreak?

All will be revealed when NCIS: LA returns with its two-parter on Sunday.
