NCIS LOS ANGELES has just finished its 11th season. But will it return for another series?

NCIS Los Angeles has been on our screens since 2009, having been first introduced as a spin-off show from the original NCIS. But is there going to be a 12th season of NCIS LA? CBS has announced the crime drama’s future today, Friday, May 6.

NCIS LA season 11 ended with the future of one of the agents left hanging in the balance.

Throughout this latest season, Nell Jones (played by Renee Felice Smith) has seemed unsure about whether or not she wanted to remain at NCIS.

Following her boyfriend and colleague Eric Beale’s (Barrett Foat) disappearance from the series due to a mission given to him by Operations Manager Hetty Lange (Linda Hunt), she asked him to slow their relationship down.

Then, in one of the last few episodes of series 11, she spoke to Hetty about leaving the job for good.

Nell had previously spoken to friend and colleague Kensi Blye (Daniela Ruah) about no longer about being excited to get out of bed in the morning for work.

She tried to carry on as normal throughout the episode but at the end, she told Hetty she would be handing in her notice.

Thankfully, Hetty refused and told Nell to take some of her holiday days off now and think about it.

Nell was not seen in the last couple of episodes of NCIS Los Angeles so her future remains unclear in the show.

What is the plot of NCIS LA season 12?

Viewers should expect the storyline with Nell to develop further in series 12.

Since it wasn’t made clear if she was going to be leaving for good, the next season is bound to talk about what her final decision will be.

At the end of the finale of NCIS Los Angeles season 11, Sam and Callen found themselves a new enemy in Navy Chief Argento (Juan Riedinger).

The team was called to investigate whether Argento had really murdered a sedated prisoner as well as a number of civilians.

Throughout the episode, the team tried to build evidence up against him and work out whether he actually did it or not.

But it was revealed he did do it and had committed several other murders.

However, despite being arrested, Argento insisted he would be free again thanks to his connections with Washington DC.

So will Argento return as the new nemesis of Hanna and Callen in NCIS Los Angeles season 12?
