Daniela Ruah, the long-running star of NCIS LA, has announced that she will swap her special forces title for a lighter role when the show ends.

Despite being a huge success since its debut in 2009, CBS announced earlier this year that the NCIS spin-off will end after season 14. But it won’t be the last time fans see Daniela Ruah, who plays Kensi Blye on NCIS: Los Angeles, as she has made an exciting career announcement just weeks after the TV network announced the cancellation.

Ruah, who has played Kensi Blye since the show’s inception in 2009, has lifted fans’ spirits by revealing she will be returning to screens for a presenting stint.

The star informed her 1.1 million Instagram followers that she will soon be returning to the small screen as the host of the Portuguese version of The Traitors.

Ruah and the TV channel SIC shared information about the upcoming show in a joint post.

Daniel Oliveira, the company’s CEO of Entertainment, also made a statement in the post.

“We are very pleased to have Daniela Ruah with us on this program at SIC,” it said, alongside a picture of Ruah smiling and the word “welcome” in Portuguese.

“Daniela has the talent, the energy, the professional experience, and the right resources to adapt to the different narrative records that the format requires at its different stages.

“You’re as enthusiastic as we are about this program, which is being produced successfully all over the world.”

“I am very happy to accept this challenge from the SIC to introduce ‘The Traitors,'” the actress said in a statement. It will be a new experience for me, but above all, I am looking forward to seeing the Portuguese audience again.”

Fans praised her in the stars’ comment section and expressed their excitement to see her on the upcoming reality show.

“Congratulations Danii, I’m super proud of you,” wrote user @Ivana d147. I wish you the best of luck with this new project and everything that comes your way in the future.”

“Daniela,” said a second @fillisray. I wish you success in your future endeavors and a wonderful life; you deserve it. Thank you for all of the wonderful years you gave us with Kensi [heart emoji].”

Another fan, @canal.do.quintao, commented, “Congratulations and best wishes to Daniela.”

The upcoming series, which is a spin-off of the original Dutch series The Traitors, is set to premiere in the spring.

Other channels, such as the BBC, which Claudia Winkleman hosted, and Peacock, which aired the American season, have adapted the show.

A group of contestants take part in the ultimate game of deception in order to win a large cash prize of around £100,000.

22 strangers are tasked with determining which of them are traitors before they are “k1lled” one by one.

The exciting career announcement comes shortly after CBS announced that NCIS: LA would be ending after the final episode of season 14, which will air in May.

Ruah recently spoke out about the cancellation, telling ET, “I’m not sad that it’s ending. I believe the show has had an amazing, long run; we’ve told phenomenal stories, and the characters have grown and matured in front of everyone on the show. It’s a bittersweet situation.

“Like, it’s time to move on creatively, but it’s going to be so difficult not to be with this incredible family of people.”

The season 14 finale will air on CBS on May 14 in the United States, and it will be the drama’s final episode, as well as Daniela’s final appearance as Kensi.
