Many people are aware that Blue Bloods star Donnie Wahlberg is also a pretty good singer for his boy band, New Kids on the Block. Wahlberg, who plays Detective Danny Reagan in the CBS police drama, reflects on the past.
On Tuesday, April 4, 2008, New Kids on the Block reunited for the first time in 15 years. That morning, they appeared on NBC’s TODAY Show.
In the comments section of this cool video, Wahlberg reflects on his reunion with his band and their fans, known as the Blockheads.
“15 years ago today, at 8:21 a.m., New Kids On The Block and our beloved Blockheads reunited!”
It was the reunion we all desired (but had no idea how badly we needed), and none of our lives have ever been the same since!” Donnie Wahlberg penned the script.
“The journey is far from over, but the last 15 years have been (without a doubt) some of the most magical, wonderful, surprising, gratifying, overwhelming, fulfilling, and truly humbling experiences that I will ever be blessed with in this – or any other – lifetime.”

Donnie Wahlberg’s Message Speaks to Fans of New Kids on the Block
As grateful as Wahlberg is, so are many of the Blockheads who flooded his comment section. “You guys have to be so proud!” one of them wrote. 15 years is an incredible achievement!!!! It feels like an eternity ago, but it also feels like yesterday. I’m at a loss for words! #nkotbforever.” “There will never be enough Thanks for reuniting 15 years ago!!” said another fan. During this time, so much love, fun, and relationships have been formed. It’s been an incredible journey! “Until the wheels fall off, we’re in this together!”
Donnie Wahlberg will continue to play Danny Reagan for another season while pursuing his musical career. CBS recently announced that Blue Bloods will return for a 14th season, following salary negotiations. That’s great news for showgoers. It also stars Tom Selleck, Bridget Moynahan, Len Cariou, Will Estes, Vanessa Ray, and Marisa Ramirez.
