In the CBS drama NCIS: Los Angeles, CHRIS O’DONNELL plays lead agent Callen. But when did they make an appearance in the show, and who were the actors’ children playing..?
Chris O’Donnell has been a member of the NCIS: Los Angeles family since the show’s inception in 2009. He is the man behind Callen, a man who didn’t have the easiest childhood but grew up to become a top agent with the help of Operations Manager Hetty Lange (played by Linda Hunt). The apple didn’t fall far from the tree either, as two of his children appear in the CBS series.
When did Chris O’Donnell’s children appear on NCIS: Los Angeles?
Callen spent time as a child in Romania with his mother Clara and sister Amy Callen (Lily O’Donnell).
However, because Callen’s grandfather had murd3red a member of the Comescu family, they vowed vengeance and to wipe out the Callen line by k1ll1ng those descended from George.
Clara was k1ll3d on a beach while one of the assassins was distracted by a toy.
He and his sister were able to travel to America and ended up in the foster care system, but they were unable to stay together.
For years, Callen had been wondering what had happened to his sister Amy when someone named Amy Callen appeared.
However, it was later revealed that this was not his sister, but rather a childhood friend of Amy’s named Hannah Lawson.
After accidentally drowning while playing in a park, the woman took Amy’s name and was buried in a grave under Hannah’s name.
When Hannah described what happened, flashbacks of Amy’s d3ath were shown.
Lily O’Donnell, O’Donnell’s real-life daughter, is the young girl who plays Amy in these scenes.
This is her only acting role to date, according to IMDB.
She isn’t the only one of O’Donnell’s children who has appeared on NCIS: Los Angeles.
Charlie O’Donnell, her younger brother, played a younger version of his father in both the series two finale and the season three premiere.
Charlie returned to the drama as a character named Michael Donnelly.
He played the son of Kristin Donnelly (Audrey Marie Anderson), whom Callen met while posing as Jason Tedrow in Past Lives in 2010.
O’Donnell and his wife Caroline have five children in total, four of whom have appeared on NCIS: Los Angeles.
Maeve, his youngest daughter, first appeared in the episode Command and Control in 2015.
O’Donnell’s other son, H. Lange, made his acting debut in 2011 and is said to have played a young Callen in Tin Soldiers and Lange, H.
His other son, Christopher, has yet to appear on NCIS: LA, but this could change in the future.
Talking about his daughter Maeve’s role in NCIS: Los Angeles “She [Maeve] had one little line and she would rehearse it at home,” O’Donnell told Entertainment Tonight.
“She was a little nervous when she arrived, but when she got to my trailer, they put a big star with her name on the board.”
Maybe O’Donnell’s fifth child, Christopher, will join in on the family tradition in Series 12.
