Wilmer Valderrama, who plays Special Agent Nick Torres on NCIS, has provided an intriguing information about the show’s forthcoming 22nd season. In an Instagram video, Valderrama gave fans a behind-the-scenes look by walking around the set’s car park, which was loaded with big trailers. What’s the major news? Filming for the next season has officially begun.
“Alright, beautiful people,” Valderrama announced with enthusiasm. “I think you know what time it is. We’re officially back on set for NCIS. Season 22 is a go. We’ve been rolling for a few days now, and I’m here to let you know that your boy Nick is back!”
Valderrama hinted earlier this month, in an interview with People, that this season would be memorable. “The key discussion is about how we can turn up the heat this season. “That is my primary focus,” he confessed. “It’s not going to be the typical ‘Oh, your favorite team is in peril.’ It will be more personal and soul-shattering. Expect some serious [tragedies] this season.”
But it won’t be all intense drama. Valderrama also teased the possibility of romance. “There could be some new sparks flying. Maybe Torres is finally ready for love this season,” he suggested. “Who knows? It might be a topic we explore.”
Valderrama also said that Gary Cole, who joined the cast in season 19, will play an important part this season. “Gary’s got some heavy lifting to do, and it’s going to be a lot of fun watching him tackle that.”
With filming in full swing and such intriguing hints from Valderrama, it seems NCIS fans have a lot to look forward to in season 22.
