Are there any NCIS season 21 spoilers?

While it’s unclear what storylines will be developed in the new season, the season 20 finale of NCIS left a major cliffhanger involving Torres. After spending the episode undercover in a prison to find the perpetrator of a mysterious Russian att4ck, the agent learned from Evelyn Shaw (guest star Juliette Goglia) that inmates were aware of the presence of a federal agent among them. Furthermore, the group discovered that current inmate Yuri (Themo Melikidze) and his father Kostya Valkov (Ilia Volok) were planning an electrical blackout across the United States, or what Ducky referred to as a “black sky event.”

Torres eventually makes his way out of prison, but not before noticing an older man (Al Sapienza) conversing with another prisoner who claims he is in jail for something he did not do. Torres went to the older man’s house as the group tried to stop Evelyn, who is actually Valkov’s daughter and the one who released the blackout v1rus. He turned out to be an unspoken key to Torres’ past, prompting Torres to pick up a gun and declare his desire to see him d1e.

With this massive twist, fans immediately took to Twitter to speculate on the connection. “I’m guessing an ex-boyfriend of [Torres]’ mom who likely stole mom’s life savings and ran… for Nick to want to k1ll him, he had to have done something more serious than that,” one Reddit user speculated. “I think the guy dated Torres’ mom, screwed her financially, and left, or framed Torres in the same way he’s doing for his current v1ctim,” another said, partially agreeing. “I believe this is a stepfather who entered their lives after Torres’ real father left… During his time, he must have done something to the family. Perhaps they were conned when they were already poor?” a different follower speculated.

Needless to say, viewers should brace themselves for a deep dive into Torres’ life before NCIS…
