What is Donnie Wahlberg’s Biggest Complaint about Blue Bloods?

Donnie Wahlberg (Saw II), Bridget Moynahan (Crown Vic), Will Estes (U-571), Len Cariou (When They See Us), Tom Selleck (Magnum P.I.), and the majority of the Blue Bloods cast have been working season after season since 2010.

Wahlberg plays Detective Danny Reagan, a member of the Reagan family, who lives in New York and has a history in law enforcement.

Each member of Danny’s family is involved in this field in some way, highlighting the ups and downs of each profession. Blue Bloods is a popular show, and according to CinemaBlend, it draws 12 million viewers each season, which is quite impressive.

With the 11th season premiering in 2021, you’d think the series’ core cast would have some gripes or things they’d do differently after all these years, and Wahlberg recently expressed this in an interview with PopCulture.

Donnie Wahlberg rarely works with some of the Blue Bloods cast members.

Because Blue Bloods has become so popular, and because there have been 11 seasons, the cast list has grown quite long over the years. Donnie Wahlberg, on the other hand, believes that a large ensemble isn’t always a good thing. “We have a great cast with so many great people, it’s hard to work with them all,” he told Pop Culture.

It’s difficult because I’ve only had a few scenes with Will Estes in the last season or two.” Wahlberg goes on to say that because the series has been running for so long, it’s easy to overlook how quickly everything moves. “You look around and realize that three years have passed and you’ve only done one scene with everyone, and you wonder how that happened.?”

Wahlberg is still having a good time on set, and the show is still doing well, so his “complaint” is minor in comparison. If anything, it demonstrates how much Wahlberg cares about his role and the incredible cast he (sort of) gets to work with.
