NCIS fans are eagerly awaiting the return of the popular spinoff show NCIS: Hawai’i. The Hawai’ian naval investigations are led by Special Agent Jane Tennant, who is played by Vanessa Lachey, a social media sensation. With over one million followers, she enjoys updating her fans on her life and her loving family.
She recently shared a proud mommy moment as her children prepare for the first day of school following the summer break.
“Bring on Back-to-School 2022!” Lachey proudly captioned the adorable photo. “Time flies by… I’m not sure what I’m feeling. It’s a bittersweet situation. Camden is also letting everyone know that he has an extra week off this summer. I don’t have the heart to tell him that at the end of the year, they get out a week earlier.”
Lachey has been busy filming the next season of NCIS: Hawai’i behind the scenes. When she’s not on set, she and her husband Nick live the dream life with their entire family on the set of the show.

Vanessa Lachey Discusses Her ‘NCIS: Hawaii’ Role
Lachey’s children are just starting school, but they are old enough to understand what it means to her to play a powerful female of color on television. Lachey recently told Insider about her feelings about the role. And, more importantly, how it affected her children.
“For me, it hit me when my children saw it, and my daughter saw it, and the way she looked at me like her Wonder Woman, and she saw me representing women,” Lachey said. “But then I realized it’s bigger than just my children.” This is for all little girls and boys alike. “Anyone who has a different feeling.”
Lachey believes her role in NCIS: Hawai’i allows her to make a difference in the world. According to the actor, it is critical to portray women in positions of power on television in order to provide proper representation to other women around the world.
“It means we’re on the right track in terms of what’s on camera.” “Because it’s in the real world,” Lachey explained. “You know, there are women in my position who are of my ethnicity in NCIS, so seeing it represented on television is so… It’s an honor to be the one doing the representation.”
The actress hopes that her role in NCIS: Hawaii will inspire children from all walks of life to pursue their dreams. She believes that if she can do it, so can anyone.
“You could play Jane Tennant on NCIS: Hawaii.” But you can also be your own person, get a spouse, start a family, get a job, and live on your dream island,” Lachey explained. “If that’s what you want to do, your appearance will not stop you.”
