Mark Harmon, best known for his role on NCIS, has had a remarkable career. Born to football player Tom Harmon and actress Elyse Knox, his mix of athletic prowess and Hollywood charm helped cement his status in entertainment.
Harmon’s love of football derives from his father, a collegiate football star. As UCLA’s quarterback in the early 1970s, Harmon led his team to numerous triumphs, including a historic victory over Nebraska, which ended their 32-game winning streak.
Despite his success, Harmon faced challenges, even famously getting NCIS creator Donald P. Bellisario removed due to creative differences. His star power prevailed, proving how respected and influential he remains on set.
Outside of acting, Harmon demonstrated real-life heroism in 1996 by rescuing a youngster from a flaming automobile. His rapid thinking reflected the courage of his NCIS character, Gibbs, demonstrating that he is a hero both on and off screen.
A devoted family man, Harmon prioritizes his children over long film shoots, explaining why he transitioned to television work. If he weren’t an actor, Harmon believes he would be a carpenter, further showcasing his down-to-earth nature.

I have always liked bed Mark Harmon. He’s a down to earth guy and easy on the eyes. What stands out now more than ever is that his family comes first. These days that’s very special. He doesn’t try to be some super macho guy, and lead his family on. He cares and puts his family above all else. Especially his children even now as they are adults themselves.
