Tom Selleck Expresses ‘Frustration’ Over Blue Bloods Cancellation

Tom Selleck, star of Blue Bloods, has voiced his disappointment regarding the show’s cancellation after 14 successful seasons. In a recent interview with TV Insider, the 79-year-old actor, known for his role as Frank Reagan, remarked that the series’ success was often “taken for granted.”

When asked about the show’s conclusion, Selleck said, “I’m kind of frustrated. During those last eight shows, I didn’t want to talk about Blue Bloods ending, but rather about it continuing to be enormously popular.” He highlighted that the show ranked sixth in total viewers among the Top 100 Shows of 2023-2024, excluding football broadcasts.

Selleck reflected on the unexpected nature of the cancellation, stating, “My frustration is the show was always taken for granted because it performed from the get-go.” He admitted it would take time to adjust to the ending, recalling how he prepared for a Monday that never came.

This is not Selleck’s first response to the network’s decision. Previously, he hoped CBS would “come to their senses,” citing the show’s good ratings and loyal cast.

Blue Bloods returns on October 18 with eight remaining episodes of season 14, beginning with the episode titled “Life Sentence,” which promises plenty of drama as the Reagans face new challenges.
