Tom Selleck’s 80th Birthday Celebration Mirrors Blue Bloods Family Traditions

Tom Selleck is gearing up for a momentous milestone-his 80th birthday-as Blue Bloods comes to an end after nearly 15 seasons. During a recent interview, the actor, who is known for keeping his personal life private, revealed some of his aspirations.

Although he no longer places much attention on birthdays, Selleck hinted to a discreet celebration. “I’ll probably have dinner with my brother, sister, and Jillie,” he stated, and he would “not make a big deal of it.”

This low-key approach mirrors the family dinners depicted on Blue Bloods, which became a hallmark of the show. Selleck also shared that holiday traditions at his 65-acre California ranch, where he lives with his wife, Jillie Mack, and their daughter, professional equestrian Hannah Selleck, are centered around family.

Christmas is a special time for them, though the tradition of gathering at the family’s 1910 hunting lodge has become challenging due to the growing number of family members.

As Blue Bloods came to an end, Selleck stated his desire to see the cast and crew, whom he considers family. When asked if he stole anything off the set, he disclosed that he still has Frank Reagan’s engraved Rolex and a Marine Corps ring, both valuable souvenirs from his time on the program. “I couldn’t bring his desk with me, but that would have been neat,” he said.
