Tom Selleck, 79, Steps Out Smiling for a Blue Bloods Q&A in NYC – A Far Cry from His 80s Heyday

Tom Selleck, 79, looked upbeat as he attended a Q&A session for Blue Bloods at the 2024 PaleyFest, despite the show’s recent cancellation. The beloved TV star, known for his role as NYC Police Commissioner Frank Reagan, has been vocal about his disappointment over CBS’s decision to end the hit series after its 14-season run.

Tom walked the red carpet dressed sharply in a black suit, white shirt, and comfortable trainers, showing off his bushy grey beard. He was recently spotted in California appearing indistinguishable from his Magnum, P.I. days, wearing a casual outfit with a rough beard.

Fans wondered about his health after he was pictured leaving a Thousand Oaks gym with what seemed to be knee surgery scars, but the actor has not publicly discussed any medical procedures.

Tom’s rep has previously denied reports about health issues, including arthritis, affirming that he’s “fit and vigorous.” After 14 years of filming Blue Bloods in New York, Tom has now relocated to his California ranch with his wife, Jillie Mack.

The show, which premiered in 2010, has been a fan favorite, starring Selleck, Donnie Wahlberg, Bridget Moynahan, and Will Estes. Tom, like many fans, was unhappy by the cancelation, saying, “CBS will find an awful lot of people aren’t ready to say goodbye.” Fans can look forward to the finale of Blue Bloods when the final season premieres in October.
