Mark Harmon’s family is preparing for Thanksgiving, which will be extra special for them.
The former NCIS star and his wife Pam Dawber recently had reason to celebrate when their son Sean married Courtney Prather in a lavish ceremony in the Maldives, surrounded by their loved ones.
The Harmons will be celebrating their first Thanksgiving with Courtney as an official member of their family this year.
They will undoubtedly make it extra special, as they are all extremely close. In fact, Mark played a key role in the proposal back in 2021.
Courtney shared photos from the moment she said ‘Yes’ on Instagram at the time, explaining that the horse in their engagement photos was actually Mark’s horse, Half n’ Half.
“Also, the next morning, we discovered that the horse ‘officiating’ the proposal was Sean’s dad’s horse for years and years called Half n’ Half, which made it all the more special,” she wrote in the caption at the time.
Sean, the son of Mark Harmon and Pam Dawber, married this year.
Mark and Pam have a son named Ty, who works as a screenwriter. Sean, on the other hand, is an actor who has appeared in NCIS flashback episodes as a young Leroy Gibbs since 2008.
He has appeared in seven episodes of the show to date, with his most recent appearance in the 2020 episode Everything Starts Somewhere.
In a rare interview with Entertainment Tonight, Mark gushed about his sons, saying of Sean, “I’m proud of him taking his work seriously and how he approaches being an actor — not just on this show.”
“I’m proud of both of our boys, and they work hard at what they do, and I’m proud that they get up every day and try to do that.”
When Mark left his role as Leroy Gibbs on NCIS in season 19 of the popular show, his fans were devastated.
For a special featurette on the show’s season 19 DVD release, he opened up about his decision to leave the show almost a year after leaving.
He sat down to discuss his character’s legacy, as well as his thoughts on how the show wrapped up his storyline, and admitted that the opportunity to tackle “fresh” and “challenging” material is what kept him returning to the drama season after season, alluding to the possibility that after almost two decades on the show, he no longer felt that way.
