Season 21 of NCIS concluded with the case neatly resolved, but left a cliffhanger regarding Special Agent Jessica Knight (Katrina Law). She was offered her dream job-Chief REACT Training Officer-by Director Vance (Rocky Carroll), a position that would take her across the country.
Showrunner Steven D. Binder discussed the finale at the CBS Fall TV 2024 Party, noting, “There was some closure and some cliff, a mixture.” He explained that while the case was resolved, some character storylines were left open, creating a mix of satisfaction and suspense for the audience.
As for Season 22, Binder shared, “We don’t have a slogan yet, but ‘take it to the limit’ is what I want to do with the characters.”

NCIS will start its 22nd season on Monday, October 14 at 8 p.m. ET/PT; however, after the premiere episode, the normal timeslot will be 9 p.m. ET/PT beginning October 21.
