‘NCIS Sydney’ Start Date: The New Spin-Off Will Run in the Fall of 2023

NCIS fans, rejoice: there will be fresh content to watch this fall. While the core trio of NCIS shows have been postponed until 2024 as a result of the writers and actors strike (or, in the case of NCIS: LA, scrapped), NCIS: Sydney will premiere on CBS to help fill the hole.

NCIS: Sydney is the franchise’s fourth show and the first to take place outside of the United States. It will consist of eight episodes and will be released in an unusual manner, with the first episode premiering on CBS the same night it will be available to stream on Paramount Plus and Showtime.

When will ‘NCIS Sydney’ be released?

While the show will premiere on November 10 in Sydney, it will be accessible to stream in the United States on Friday, November 13. Because it concluded production soon before the writers strike began, it will be the only scripted drama to premiere on CBS this autumn.

CBS Entertainment president Amy Reisenbach issued a statement announcing the show’s premiere date, saying she was happy to be expanding the NCIS brand’s worldwide appeal. “NCIS is one of the most popular series in the world, and we’re thrilled to expand this franchise with a uniquely Australian twist,” she said.

“With the addition of NCIS: Sydney, our studio and network footprint continues to grow in this fascinating world that has been a proven winner with viewers on both linear and streaming platforms,” Reisenbach continued. “With the stunning backdrop of Australia as its backdrop, the new series will incorporate the high-stakes intrigue, humor, and camaraderie that have kept fans captivated by the NCIS teams for more than two decades.”

It’s unknown whether the success of the first season will result in an enlarged episode count, one closer to the episode counts of the other NCIS episodes, but regardless, we’ll have a way to get our procedural fix this autumn, and we couldn’t be more excited.
