Sean Murray has been a regular on the hit CBS drama NCIS for nearly two decades, and fans of the 44-year-old actor will recall that he dramatically slimmed down for his second season on the show.
The actor first appeared as Timothy McGee in season seven, then stunned viewers with a dramatically slimmed-down appearance in season eight, prompting a barrage of fan questions.
At the time, the actor took to Twitter to explain how he’d shed the pounds, writing: “To those who have inquired as to how I lost the 25 pounds: 14 months without alcohol and nearly no sugar. I only ate organic foods ;)”
After fans suggested that the star had lost too much weight too quickly, he responded on Twitter: “You can see me gradually losing weight over the course of Season 7’s 24 (episodes). A pound or two every week or two. Examine the DVDs.”
He continued: “I don’t mean to make it sound like ‘Ha ha! Look at what I’ve accomplished!’ but simply wanted to respond to those who inquired.”
According to his Twitter, Sean Murray gradually lost weight.
“Perhaps one year I come back and it’s full-on McMuscles,” he joked about his changing appearance.
Though Sean has been on NCIS since 2003, he began his career a decade earlier as Thackery Binx in Disney’s Hocus Pocus in 1993.
Sean Murray has been a member of NCIS since 2003.
Sean, who was 14 at the time of filming, previously discussed his time on the show with E! News, saying: “It’s well-liked. I have kids who come to me because their parents grew up on it, and now their children are growing up on it. It’s like a cult classic.”
