Wilmer Valderrama paid a heartfelt tribute to his former co-star Mark Harmon, who left the show during season 19, ahead of NCIS’ 450th episode.
NCIS, CBS’ long-running drama, reached a major milestone on Monday with the release of its 450th episode. As the cast celebrated the achievement, actor Wilmer Valderrama paid tribute to Mark Harmon, who played Leroy Jethro Gibbs on the show.
NCIS, which debuted in 2003, reached a rare milestone in television history with the premiere of its 450th episode.
While this was a huge accomplishment for the cast and crew, the beloved agents went about their business as usual.
The episode Usual Suspects was about family and featured the return of Alden Parker’s (Gary Cole) father.
NCIS’ main cast members discussed the show’s 20-year run ahead of its release.
“It’s also a big tribute to Mark Harmon, who led this beautifully for hundreds of episodes,” Wilmer said of the milestone.
“And was able to lead this boat with integrity and the value set that it still performs today.
“Then come full circle, all of us coming in and being disruptive enough to continue to reinvent it for the audience.
“So there’s a recipe of things that have to go perfectly in order for you to reach 450.”
“And we can’t take credit for the first 300, but I will say that it’s beautiful to stand on the same ground as this team,” Wilmer told ET Online.
When Wilmer was cast as Torres in season 14’s Rouge, it was the 307th episode of the show.
Nick joined the team as a special agent, which was led by Gibbs, a former special agent in charge.
This lasted until Gibbs resigned in season 19’s Great Wide Open.
Mark’s departure devastated thousands of viewers around the world because Gibbs was the longest-serving character on the show, appearing in 418 episodes.
Torres looked up to the character as a father figure, and he had a profound impact on him.
Torres was still reeling from Gibbs’ departure a few episodes later, owing to the fact that he never got to say goodbye to Gibbs.
Between Gibbs and his love interest Eleanor Bishop, there were too many losses in a short period of time (Emily Wickersham).
The NCIS team investigates the d3ath of a ride-share driver who was discovered after a car accident in the 450th episode.
Parker’s relationship with his father, retired Navy vet Roman Parker, was revealed in the episode (Francis Xavier McCarthy).
As Roman was temporarily living with him and assisting the team in their investigation, the father and son duo were forced to confront their issues.
