NCIS: Origins Trailer Unveils Young Gibbs’ Journey and His Gritty Beginnings

The teaser for NCIS: Origins, a prequel to the long-running NCIS series, shows fans the early life of Leroy Jethro Gibbs, played by Austin Stowell. Set in 1991, the show follows a young Gibbs as he begins his career as a special agent at the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) Camp Pendleton office. The trailer emphasizes Gibbs’ raw determination, prompted by the death of his wife and kid, as well as his efforts to establish himself on a difficult, ragged team commanded by NCIS legend Mike Franks (Kyle Schmid). The plot stresses how Gibbs’ mentor, Franks, helped develop him into the agent that fans of the original program grew to adore.

Fans will see iconic moments from Gibbs’s early career, and Mark Harmon, who portrayed the character in NCIS, narrates the series. The trailer also introduces other key figures, such as Special Agent Lala Dominguez (Mariel Molino), a character navigating the male-dominated military world with grit and humor.

NCIS: Origins will premiere on October 14, 2024, and the trailer promises explosive action, character-driven drama, and insights into how Gibbs became the figure who would eventually lead the NCIS team.
