After Tony DiNozzo (Michael Weatherly) briefly returned for “NCIS” Season 21, rumors about Ziva David (Cote de Pablo) started swirling. Fans got even more excited with the announcement of a new series, tentatively titled “NCIS: Europe,” featuring both Weatherly and de Pablo reprising their roles as Tony and Ziva.
In this new series, the “Tiva” duo will do more than just fight cr1me. Their tween daughter, Tali David-DiNozzo, will play an important role, forcing Tony and Ziva to strike a new balance between work and family life. Weatherly announced the revelation on the CBS special “NCIS-Verse: The First 1,000,” explaining that the David-DiNozzo family begins the program in Paris but would soon be on the run, finding out how to rescue the world. Ziva and Tony Take Their Adventures International!
Tony and Ziva’s unique relationship has long been a fan favorite, so their upcoming spin-off is eagerly awaited. Unlike a typical case-of-the-week show, this series promises to be a grand international espionage thriller suited for former Mossad agent Ziva. Her international connections and half-brother Ari Haswari’s influence frequently added an espionage edge to her early “NCIS” days, so it’s only natural that a Ziva-centered drama would do the same.
Meanwhile, “NCIS” continues to expand its universe with a new prequel, “NCIS: Origins,” featuring early career stories of characters like Leroy Jethro Gibbs, Mike Franks, and Vera Strickland. With these additions, the CBS franchise is poised to become one of the more diverse TV universes.
