New information has been released about the special NCIS 1000th episode. Daniela Ruah will reprise her role as Special Agent Kensi Blye from NCIS: Los Angeles, while Vanessa Lachey will play Special Agent Jane Tennant from NCIS: Hawai’i. The two agents will not be physically present at the D.C. office, but will participate remotely.
NCIS co-showrunner Steven D. Binder promises the episode will be a treat for longtime fans. “We really wanted to capture the history from episode one on up,” he told Parade. “There’s going to be a lot of Easter eggs in the show, too, visual and auditory, for fans to discover.”
This is a homecoming for Ruah, who not only played Kensi for 15 years on NCIS: Los Angeles but has also transitioned into directing within the NCIS universe. She recently directed the March 4 episode of NCIS and will be directing an upcoming episode of NCIS: Hawai’i. “So many familiar faces and people I love,” Ruah told Deadline. “It’s like coming home.”
Lachey is no new to NCIS, having starred in prior crossover episodes.
In other news surrounding the 1000th episode, TVLine reports that Director Leon Vance’s son Jared will make an appearance, this time played by Spence Moore II.
