John F. Kennedy’s name is forever linked to both political brilliance and personal controversy. Among the many women associated with him, Mary Pinchot Meyer stands out-not just for her beauty, but for her deep intellectual bond with the president.
An artist and socialite, Meyer was the ex-wife of high-ranking C1A official Cord Meyer. Her relationship with JFK allegedly involved discussions on world peace, secret meetings, and even LSD experiments aimed at expanding political consciousness.
Meyer was reportedly instrumental in shifting Kennedy’s views towards peace, even influencing his famous American University speech. After JFK’s assassination, she allegedly confided in Timothy Leary, saying, “They couldn’t control him anymore… they had to take him out.” Her suspicions about the assassination may have put her in danger.
On October 12, 1964, less than a year after Kennedy’s death, Meyer was murd3red in broad daylight along the C&O Canal towpath in Georgetown. Shot execution-style, the cr1me bore signs of a professional hit. Police arrested Ray Crump Jr., but with no forensic evidence tying him to the murd3r, he was acquitted.
The mystery deepened when C1A counterintelligence chief James Jesus Angleton reportedly broke into Meyer’s home shortly after her death to retrieve her personal diary. The diary, which allegedly contained details about her affair with Kennedy and her suspicions about his assassination, was later destroyed by the C1A.
Meyer’s murd3r remains unsolved, fueling theories that she was silenced for knowing too much. Was it a targeted hit linked to the intelligence community, or merely an unsolved cr1me? The lingering questions continue to intrigue historians and conspiracy theorists alike.
