In A Stunning Finale Hint, NCIS Los Angeles Teases A Callen and Hetty Reunion

NCIS: Los Angeles will be off the air for the foreseeable future, but the final moments of Sunday night’s epic midseason finale teased a long-awaited reunion.

Hetty Lange (Linda Hunt) has been missing for the majority of the most recent seasons of NCIS: Los Angeles. G Callen (Chris O’Donnell) may be one step closer to reuniting with his boss on the hit CBS drama after Sunday night’s action-packed fall finale, Let It Burn.

The 14th season of NCIS: Los Angeles has once again hinted at Hetty’s return to the main cast.

The popular NCIS spin-off has been without its stalwart team leader for several years, owing in part to restrictions imposed during the C0V1D 19 pand3mic.

Hetty’s mysterious whereabouts remain unknown as the spin-off enters the second half of its 2022-23 season.

Admiral Hollace Kilbride (Gerald McRaney) meets with Callen at the end of the latest episode and defends some of Hetty’s past actions.

Callen’s boss has always been like a surrogate mother to the NCIS agent, but he recently discovered she had been keeping secrets from him since he was a child.

During their meeting, Kilbride hands the agent a file containing previously unknown information about his childhood.

He explains that Hetty’s decision to conceal the truth about his upbringing was not motivated by malice.

Finally, he urged Callen to keep a cool head while reading the documents and to think clearly before making any rash decisions.

For the time being, the contents of Kilbride’s files will remain a mystery, but fans may learn more about Callen’s childhood when season 14 returns in the new year.

Before appearing on Hetty’s radar, the future NCIS agent was bounced around various foster homes as a child.

He was then put through spy training and has gradually learned more about his past while working as an NCIS agent.

Callen eventually discovers he was born in Romania and learns about his parents’ blood feud with the Comescus, an organized cr1me family.

However, as Kilbride revealed in last week’s episode, there are still important details about Callen’s life before becoming an NCIS agent that he has yet to learn.

This stinger could also be setting up Hetty’s return to the series by the end of this season, as Callen becomes increasingly desperate to find her.

When they received the tragic news of Hetty’s d3ath, it almost convinced them to abandon the search.

When a Navy officer calls in to confirm the remains of Trudy Chambers, one of Hetty’s aliases, had been discovered in an ambushed school in Syria, the pair are stunned.

Fortunately, Callen soon discovers that his short-statured boss used a murd3red child to fake her d3ath by planting her ID on the body.

She’s now presumed to be alive and well, and Callen and his agents may have to embark on a perilous mission to bring Hetty back from Syria by the end of season 14.

So far, CBS has not confirmed Linda’s return to the series, but hopefully this latest hint means her iconic run as the beloved NCIS boss is far from over.
