Frank Fritz, beloved star of “American Pickers,” passed away at 60. His longtime friend and co-star, Mike Wolfe, shared the news on social media, saying Fritz died on September 30, 2024. Wolfe wrote, “I’ve known Frank for more than half my life, and what you’ve seen on TV is what I saw off-camera—a sensitive and funny dreamer.”
Fritz co-hosted “American Pickers” on the History Channel from its premiere in 2010 to Season 21. The show followed Fritz and Wolfe’s journey around the United States in search of rare treasures and antiques. The History Channel and the show’s creators were saddened by his death, describing him as “the bearded charmer” with a passion for vintage motorcycles.
Fritz, who owned Frank Fritz Finds, an antiques store in Savanna, Illinois, had faced health issues in recent years. He was hospitalized after suffering a stroke in 2022. Despite a reported falling out with Wolfe, the two reconciled before Fritz’s death, with Wolfe by his side during his final moments.
Fritz, a motorcycle enthusiast, was inducted into the Sturgis Motorcycle Museum Hall of Fame in 2019. He regularly talked about his love of motorcycles, having bought his first Harley-Davidson in high school.
Fritz will be remembered for his contributions to American history and motorcycle culture, his lifelong friendships, and his love for the open road.
