Rapper Fatman Scoop Dies After On-Stage Medical Emergency at 53

US rapper Fatman Scoop, whose real name was Isaac Freeman III, has passed away at the age of 53. The rapper collapsed during a performance in Hamden, Connecticut, on August 30 and later died.

Birch Michael, also known as Pure Cold, Freeman’s tour manager, sent a touching tribute on Instagram, expressing his profound loss: “You taught me how to be the man I am today.” I love you, Scoop, and I am grateful for everything you have given me.”

MN2S, Freeman’s talent agency, also released a statement: “Scoop was a beloved figure in the music world, whose iconic voice, infectious energy, and great personality made an indelible mark on the industry.”

Concerns about Freeman’s health were raised after camera footage showed him straining to breathe after mounting the stairs to the DJ booth on stage. He was transported to the hospital, but sadly died.

Fatman Scoop was renowned for his role as a ‘hype man,’ collaborating with artists like Nick Cannon, Skrillex, Timbaland, Mariah Carey, and Missy Elliott. He was scheduled to perform at the Reminisce Festival next month in Saint Helens, where organizers expressed their deep sorrow at his passing.
