Sean Murray has shared a new backstage photo from NCIS filming, complete with his co-stars.
Sean captioned the photo, which showed the group all standing around on set, “Hanging with some of the NCIS fam,” which he shared on Instagram this week.
Fans of the show, on the other hand, were quick to notice that a beloved member of the team was missing. While the actor in question actually left the show in 2021, fans expressed how much they missed seeing Mark Harmon in the cast.
“I love it, but where is Gibbs?” one fan asked, referring to Mark’s alter ego, Leroy Gibbs. “Really nice picture, but I miss Gibbs,” said another. “It’s not the same without Gibbs,” said a third.
Other fans noticed that the image looked exactly like a Christmas card, and many suggested that they use it as such.
While Gibbs is no longer on the show, neither his character nor Mark are forgotten. During an interview with Looper, Brian Dietzen recently opened up about his good friend, who had been on the show with him for 20 years.
Sean Murray posted a photo with his NCIS cast members, but fans were noticeably absent Mark Harmon.
“On a personal note, I’m really thankful I got to work with Mark and call him a friend for that many years,” he said of Mark, and how it felt now that he was gone.
“I feel the same way about everyone I’ve worked with there. For the past 20 years, it has been a wonderful, wonderful place. As people come and go from our set, it feels like you’re constantly meeting new family members and making new friends.”
He described Mark’s absence from the show as a “massive change.”
The NCIS cast is extremely close.
“This entire television show has been built on the backs, efforts, and labor of people like Mark Harmon, Cote de Pablo, Michael Weatherly, and Pauley Perrette.” There are many people who have contributed to this entity, who have served their time, or however you want to put it.
“They’ve been family members for 19 years, and Mark has certainly been the patriarch of this family,” he said. “You feel that loss immediately on an energy level, but also on a personal level on a day-to-day basis.”
