Emily Wickersham has been portraying NSA analyst Ellie Bishop on NCIS since 2013, making it her longest-running role. However, she’s also appeared in other TV shows like Gossip Girl and The Bridge, and in the movie I Am Four. Here are five quick facts about her:

Early Life
Wickersham was born April 26, 1984, in Mamaroneck, New York. She spent two years at Muhlenberg College before leaving to pursue performing.

Family Heritage
Her striking features hint at her diverse ancestry. On her mother’s side, Wickersham has Ashkenazi Jewish roots from Russia and Austria-Hungary, while her father’s side includes Swedish and Canadian heritage.

First Big Break
Wickersham’s first recurring TV role was on The Sopranos, where she played Rhiannon Flammer in four episodes.

College Trouble
Wickersham revealed on the Rachael Ray Show that she once got in trouble for using a fake ID to buy beer in a pub, an incident that even made it onto the cover of her campus newspaper.

From Recurring to Regular
She initially joined NCIS as a recurring character in Season 11 to replace Cote de Pablo’s Ziva. Her role quickly became a series regular, and she was the one to uncover that Ziva might still be alive.
