Fans of NCIS can rejoice. You’re in luck if you’ve been missing Ducky (played by David McCallum). The fan-favorite character will appear in the final two episodes of NCIS Season 19.

Ducky hasn’t said much since becoming the NCIS historian. He has appeared in a few episodes, but his role on the show has diminished significantly. Thankfully, we’ll see the former chief medical examiner again before the season ends. (Here’s how McCallum compares himself to Donald Ducky Mallard.)
Steve Binder, Executive Producer of NCIS, shared some exciting news. He tells TV Insider that Ducky will return for the season’s final two episodes. Ducky, according to the publication, will return to assist Jimmy (Brian Dietzen). We’re not sure what Jimmy requires assistance with, but we’re excited to see what this episode brings.
David McCallum’s films and television shows
McCallum made his acting debut in the miniseries The Rose and the Ring in 1953. He took on the role of Giglio. He made his film debut in the 1957 film Night Ambush. McCallum had a recurring role on the television show Our Mutual Friend. From 1958 to 1959, he played Eugene Wrayburn. After playing Ashley-‘Dispersal’ Pitt’s in the 1963 film The Great Escape, the actor got his big break.
From 1964 to 1968, McCallum was best known for his role as Illya Kuryakin in the television series The Man from U.N.C.L.E. He has also appeared on The Replacements, The Education of Max Bickford, Kidnapped, Law & Order, and Sex and the City. McCallum also appeared in two episodes of JAG, a spin-off of NCIS. He appeared in two episodes of “Meltdown” and “Ice Queen” in 2003.

McCallum has a soft spot in his heart for NCIS. He dubbed the performance “Rock of Gibraltar.” During an interview with CBS, he expressed his gratitude for being a part of the hit show for so many years and stated that he intends to stay on as long as he can. He also claims that he has no intention of slowing down anytime soon:
I began working in [British] equity 72 years ago. Frank [Cardea] stopped me the other day and asked, ‘Would you like us to lighten the load in season 17?’ ‘No, I’d like you to double the load,’ I said.
When you reach a certain age, you can either slow down or do everything you can to challenge yourself. And if you find everything that can challenge you and take naps in between, if you can rise to those challenges, you’ll be able to keep doing what you enjoy. And I have a million things I enjoy doing in my life, but it’s all the same when I come back here. This is my Gibraltar Rock.
