Dr. Kelly Powers, Respected Fox News Medical Commentator, Passes Away at 45

Dr. Kelly Powers, a surgeon and frequent Fox News contributor, passed away Sunday after a courageous battle with brain cancer. She was 45.

An obituary hailed her as “a brave and beautiful soul” who was deeply committed to helping others. Aside from her medical successes, she enjoyed gardening, surfing, ballet, motorcycling, horseback riding, and traveling.

Powers is survived by her husband, Steven Doll, their son, Bennett, and her parents and in-laws.

Diagnosed with glioblastoma in 2020, Powers underwent three brain surgeries, radiation, chemotherapy, and immunotherapy. Despite her efforts, the cancer returned in 2024, prompting a fundraiser to explore treatment options in Germany.

“This horrible disease needs to stop,” she said in a June Instagram video documenting her journey.

Powers was born in Yonkers, New York, and graduated from the New York College of Podiatric Medicine. He also completed residencies at Georgetown and Boston University. In addition to her medical practice, she made frequent appearances on Fox News, Fox Business, and other networks.

Her family requests donations to the brain cancer nonprofit Stache Strong in her memory.
