Set your sights, get set, and run for your lives. The NCIS team provides security for a Navy admiral who is the grand marshal of a Thanksgiving 5K, including lab denizens Jimmy (Brian Dietzen) and Kasie (Diona Reasonover), but chaos ensues when a shooter opens fire.
“Right in front of them, their relaxed race turns into a cr1me scene,” Reasonover says. The only fatality occurs when a bullet strikes a turkey float’s hidden generator.
Was the admiral the intended target? Back at the evidence garage, the scientists examine the burned husk. Meanwhile, Knight (Katrina Law) invites Kasie to lunch at her sister’s (Lilan Bowden’s) house so that the guest can mediate between the siblings.
“We see Kasie in a different light now.” “She lets loose after a few cocktails!” reveals Reasonover, who co-wrote the episode, her first for NCIS, with Scott Williams.
In terms of the case, mounting evidence indicates that Knight was the intended v1ctim.
“Everyone is horrified,” says Reasonover. “Someone very close to her and her history with NCIS,” according to the perp. When Knight discovers who it is, she is forced to make difficult confessions about what is important to her.”
