Chuck Norris has shared the sad news that his mother, Wilma Norris Knight, has passed away at the age of 103. The “Walker, Texas Ranger” star, 84, announced her death on Instagram, saying she died on Wednesday morning.
“Mom was a woman of unwavering faith, a beacon of light in our lives, and her love reflected God’s grace,” Norris once wrote. He lauded her as a source of joy and safety in his upbringing, highlighting her amazing generosity and compassion.
Wilma, born May 24, 1921, in Wilson, Oklahoma, endured a challenging life. Raised in poverty, she became a ward of the state at 8 and spent two years in a children’s hospital battling a rare disease. At 16, she married Ray Norris, with whom she had three sons. After their divorce, she raised the boys alone, moving them from Oklahoma to Kansas and later California.
In 2011, Wilma published her autobiography, Acts of Kindness: My Story, sharing her life’s journey and stories about raising Chuck and his brothers.
Chuck expressed tremendous gratitude for his mother’s impact, adding, “I wouldn’t be the man I am today without her.” He concluded his homage with, “We love you, Mom.” “Until we meet again.”
