NCIS has been a TV staple for two decades and has proven so popular with fans that it has spawned spin-offs such as NCIS: Los Angeles and NCIS: Hawai’i.
Despite longtime NCIS star Mark Harmon leaving the series during season 19, he affectionately used to refer to the cast and crew as “one big family”.
What about their real families, though? Here’s everything you need to know about all of the NCIS stars’ past and present partners and children…
Vanessa Lachey
Vanessa Lachey has been playing Special Agent Jane Tennant on NCIS: Hawai’i since 2021. Off-screen, she has been married to Nick Lachey since 2011, and they have three children: Camden, ten, Phoenix, six, and Brooklyn, eight.
Mark Harmon
Mark Harmon comes from a well-known family. His father was US footballer Tom Harmon, and his mother was Elyse Knox, a black and white movie star. In terms of his personal life, he has been married to actress Pam Dawber since 1987.
Sean, 34, and Ty, 30 are the couple’s two sons. Eldest Sean has even appeared in flashback episodes as a young version of his father’s character, Leroy Jethro Gibbs.
Katrina Law
Katrina Law joined the NCIS cast at the end of season 18 and was recast as Agent Jessica Knight as a series regular in 2021. Katrina is married to actor Keith Andreen, whom she met in 2010 on the set of the TV show The Resistance. In December 2018, they welcomed their first child, Kinley, into the world.
Brian Dietzen
On the show, Brian Dietzen plays Dr. Jimmy Palmer. While his character has faced family tragedy, Brian is happily married to his wife Kelly, with whom he has two children. He prefers to keep his personal life private, but in November 2022, he revealed his children’s names for the first time in a social media post.
Brian revealed the names of his children on each of the personalized golf wedges he shared in a photo. The name Clover and some musical notes were on one wedge, and the name Satchel and an Overwatch logo were on the other.
Michael Weatherly
Michael Weatherly, a former NCIS star, left the show in 2016 to spend more time with his young children. He and his wife of 14 years, Bojana Jankovic, have two children: Olivia, ten, and Liam, nine. August, 27, is his son from his first marriage to Amelia Heinle, which lasted two years.
Sean Murray
In NCIS, Sean Murray plays special agent Timothy McGee, and his real-life stepsister, Pretty Little Liars actress Troian Bellisario, also plays his sister. He is the proud father of two children, Caitlyn, a daughter, and River, a son, whom he shares with his wife, Carrie.
Wilmer Valderrama
Wilmer Valderrama joined the NCIS cast in 2016 as agent Nicholas Torres. Over the years, the actor has had several high-profile relationships, most notably with Lindsey Lohan and Demi Lovato. In 2020, he announced his engagement to his eight-month girlfriend Amanda Pacheco, and the couple announced they were expecting shortly before Christmas.
They welcomed their daughter, Nakano Oceana, on February 15, 2021. She was named after a trip the couple took to Japan where they decided they “would really be together” and also after Takeko Nakano, a female samurai.
Emily Wickersham
Emily Wickersham left NCIS at the end of season 18, but she quickly took on a more important role – motherhood. On December 30, 2021, the actress, who played agent Ellie Bishop, gave birth to her first child, son Cassius, with her partner, actor James Badge Dale.
Maria Bello
Before her character was k1lled off in season 18’s The First Day, Maria Bello played forensic psychologist Dr. Jacqueline ‘Jack’ Sloane on NCIS. While she and former boyfriend Dan McDermott have a 21-year-old son, Jackson, the actress came out as gay in 2013.
She made her first public appearance with her girlfriend, French chef Dominique Crenn, in 2020, and announced their engagement while on a romantic getaway to Paris.
LL Cool J
Since the early 2000s, LL Cool J has played Sam Hanna in the NCIS spin-off series NCIS: Los Angeles. He has been happily married to his wife Simone I. Smith since 1995, away from the cameras. The couple met when LL was a young rapper and dated for eight years before marrying.
They have four adult children: son Najee, 33, and daughters Italia, 32, Samaria, 27, and Nina, 22. While LL’s three eldest children have pursued careers outside of the spotlight, Nina has chosen to follow in her famous father’s footsteps and is an aspiring R&B singer.
Daniela Ruah
Daniela Ruah, a Kensi Blye actress, met her husband on the set of NCIS: Los Angeles! She has been married to stuntman David Olsen since 2014. He is not only the stunt double for Marty Deeks actor Eric Christian Olsen, but also his older brother. They now have two children, a son, River, and a daughter, Sierra.
Chris O’Donnell
Chris O’Donnell has played G. Callen on NCIS: Los Angeles since 2009. While his character isn’t known for being a family man, the actor has been married for over 20 years and has five children!
With his wife Caroline Fentress, he has four children: Lily, 23, Christopher, 22, Charles, 19, Finley, 16, and Maeve, 15. In fact, almost his entire family has appeared on the show over the years. Maeve, his youngest child, was the most recent guest star, appearing alongside her mother in an episode in 2015.
