Blue Bloods, CBS’ hit generational drama, is nearing the end of its 13th season, which will air on Friday, May 19. Danny Reagan star Donnie Wahlberg took to social media with a touching post in which he thanked everyone on the show and revealed that filming for season 13 had concluded.
Donnie delivered a passionate speech as he celebrated the end of production as the dreaded season 13 finale approached.
As he wrapped up his final day as Danny Reagan, the actor shared a behind-the-scenes look from the set.
After a round of applause and a brief celebratory dance, the actor thanked the Blue Bloods cast and crew, saying, “We’re so blessed to work with you all.”
In the lengthy caption, he expressed his gratitude to fans for watching the drama.
“Yesterday, April 4 — not only was it #NKOTBReunionDay, but it was also the day we officially wrapped Season 13 of #BlueBloods.”
“I can’t express how grateful I am to work with such an incredible cast and crew, nor can I ever properly express my gratitude to them and to all of you — our devoted fans and viewers!”
“I can, however, promise to keep working my tail off to show you how grateful I am for this incredible opportunity to be welcomed into your homes (with my TV family) each week.”
“To be a part of your lives and to have you as a part of mine — and to be so fortunate to be able to do what I love every day.”
Donnie went on, “Thank you! Season 14 begins! We’ll see you in July! Let’s get started!”
Fortunately for fans, network executives recently approved the next installment.
CBS announced the renewal with an exciting video that teased more action for the Reagans.
Amy Reisenbach, President of CBS Entertainment, issued a statement about the upcoming season 14 premiere.
“Blue Bloods has dominated Friday nights since its premiere and remained an important anchor for CBS’ winning lineup,” she explained.
“Led by Tom Selleck and an incredible cast and creative team, viewers continue to love the Reagans, their law enforcement family, and the series’ dramatic storytelling.”
“We can’t wait to pull up a chair at the Reagan family dinner table for another incredible season.”
After its debut on CBS in 2010, Blue Bloods became an instant hit with viewers.
The procedural drama followed the Reagan family as they worked in various areas of law enforcement.
The star-studded cast is led by Tom Selleck, who plays Frank Reagan, the no-nonsense patriarch and police commissioner.
Danny is an NYPD detective, and Jamie Reagan (Will Estes) is a field intelligence sergeant.
Elsewhere Erin Reagan (Bridget Moynahan) aspires to be a district attorney.
