Blue Bloods Actress Sami Gayle Recently Received Some Bad News

In an unexpected change of events, Andrew Lloyd Webber’s latest Broadway production, “Bad Cinderella,” is set to close earlier than expected due to a dearth of Tony Award nominations.

The final performance of the whimsical reimagining of the classic fairy tale is slated for June 4 at the Imperial Theatre. Despite the talent of its cast, including Sami Gayle, known for her role in “Blue Bloods,” and Lindey Genao as Cinderella, the production struggled to find its footing.

Gayle, who played one of the evil stepsisters, Adele, thanked the entire cast on Instagram for the opportunity. “Working on this production has been a PURE JOY,” Gayle said, encouraging people to see the performance before it closes.

“Bad Cinderella” faced challenges from the start, receiving mixed reviews and failing to captivate audiences. The absence of Tony nominations served as the final blow to its Broadway run.

With its untimely closing, Broadway will say goodbye to a Lloyd Webber musical for the first time in decades. Despite this setback, Lloyd Webber’s reputation is unsurpassed, with famous successes like “Cats” and “The Phantom of the Opera” dazzling Broadway stages for decades.

Fans can catch Sami Gayle’s return to television screens in the Season 13 finale of “Blue Bloods,” airing Friday, May 19, alongside special guests Jennifer Esposito and Tony Terraciano in an episode titled “Forgive Us Our Trespasses.”
