With Blue Bloods nearing its end after 14 seasons, fans are left wondering about possible spin-offs. Abigail Hawk, who plays Frank Reagan’s assistant Detective Abigail Baker, shared her thoughts on the possibility of expanding the Blue Bloods universe.
While Hawk believes a spin-off is possible, she believes it should take place outside of New York to avoid conflict with the Reagan family’s story. She proposed looking into different time periods, like as a historical look at early NYPD, which might provide new insights on the business.
However, Hawk is hesitant about a prequel centered on a young Frank Reagan. She questioned who could possibly step into Tom Selleck’s iconic role, admitting, “I almost wonder if it would have to be someone completely new.” She suggested Tom Hardy as a potential choice, praising his sensitive, rugged style seen in roles like Venom. Yet, Hawk noted that Hardy’s other commitments, like his upcoming action-thriller Havoc, could make him an unlikely candidate.
While the idea of a spin-off is fascinating, Hawk acknowledged the difficulty of preserving Blue Bloods‘ history.
