Fans of NCIS: Los Angeles were devastated to learn that the show had been canceled after 14 seasons.
NCIS Los Angeles may have millions of viewers each week, but it’s almost time to say goodbye. CBS announced that season 14 would be the final season of the spin-off, citing budget constraints as the reason for the cancellation. So its fan base is more aware than ever that they don’t have much time left with those at the OSP (Office of Special Projects).
How many episodes of NCIS: Los Angeles are left to air in the final season?
After disappearing for more than a month earlier this year, NCIS Los Angeles is back with a new episode every weekend in the same time slot.
Thankfully, the hiatus is over, and the drama has returned to its regular CBS schedule.
This does mean, however, that each episode brings us closer to the grand finale, which will air on Sunday, May 14.
NCIS Los Angeles season 14 has just seven episodes left, including the final episode to look forward to.
As a result, viewers can expect either another month-long wait for the police procedural or a few shorter breaks sprinkled throughout the rest of the series.
It was earlier this month that president of CBS Entertainment, Amy Reisenbach, released a statement that left many feeling sh0cked and disappointed.
“For 14 seasons, NCIS: Los Angeles has been a stalwart of our lineup with characters who were a joy to watch,” she explained. It’s no surprise that this show became a global franchise.
“From day one, the cast, producers and crew were amazing Network/Studios partners, and their teamwork, talent and spirit vividly came through on the screen.
“We are grateful for the collaboration and remarkable run of these treasured members of our CBS family, and we intend to give them the farewell they and their fans deserve.”
While fans are eager to see how the drama concludes, many are concerned about the absence of one particular character.
For the past two years, operations manager Hetty Lange (played by Linda Hunt) has not returned to the drama on a full-time basis.
To keep the 77-year-old safe, her role was reduced during the height of the c0ronav1rus pand3mic.
But since then, she has only appeared in the drama sporadically and it isn’t clear when Hunt will reprise her role ahead of the finale.
The most recent episode of NCIS LA, episode 13, A Farewell to Arms, aired on Sunday, February 26.
Admiral Hollace Kilbride was at the center of one of the show’s major plotlines when his ex-wife Elizabeth Kilbride (Marilu Henner) appeared out of nowhere.
She was eager to persuade Kilbride to contact his estranged son Alex (Christopher Gorham) in order to try to repair their relationship.
He wasn’t sure if this was the right thing for him to do, but he has begun to think about it.
Shame will be the title of the next installment, episode 14.
Agent Callen (Chris O’Donnell) and Anna Kolcheck (Bar Paly) will begin to plan their wedding.
Shame will also be directed by Kensi Blye star Daniela Ruah, so don’t miss it.
