‘NCIS: Los Angeles’ Star LL Cool J Will Host The MTV Music Awards

LL Cool J, star of NCIS: Los Angeles, will take a break from acting later this month. That is when he will return to his first love, music.

On August 28, he will co-host the MTV Music Awards. He’ll be MCing one of the year’s biggest musical events alongside Nicki Minaj and Jack Harlow. The choice of hosts also suggests that it will be a big night for hip hop.

And being back on the MTV stage will undoubtedly bring back memories for the NCIS: Los Angeles star. After all, he was the first rapper to be honored with a Video Vanguard Award 25 years ago. Hip hop artists have dominated this year. Kendrick Lamar, Lil Nas X, and Harlow are the only artists with seven nominations.

LL Cool J’s hip-hop and lifestyle brand, Rock the Bells, announced his participation. According to the company’s tweet, LL Cool J performed at the VMAs for the first time in 1991, when he won Best Rap Video.

The rap legend also had time away from NCIS: Los Angeles to host a music festival in his hometown of New York City. He dubbed it the Rock the Bells Festival, and many legendary names performed at Forest Hills Stadium earlier this month for a sold-out show.

But he’s also been filming season 14 of NCIS: Los Angeles. The show’s fall premiere date is October 9. CBS hasn’t revealed much about the NCIS: Los Angeles spinoff. To commemorate their respective season premieres on September 19, the original NCIS will do a two-hour crossover with NCIS: Hawai’i.

However, information about LA has leaked. Daniela Ruah, who plays Kensi Blye, will direct the season 14 fifth episode. It is currently in production. Ruah announced the news on Instagram earlier this week. According to TV Line, the episode will center on missing expl0sives and domestic abuse in the Navy. “Flesh & Blood” is the title of the episode.

This will be Ruah’s fifth NCIS: Los Angeles episode to direct. In season 13, she performed three songs: “Live Free or D1e Standing,” “Pandora’s Box,” and “Lost Sailor Down.” She then directed “Russia, Russia, Russia” in season 12.

Greg Gadson, a retired Army colonel who lost both legs in an IED expl0sion in Iraq in 2007, will appear in NCIS: Los Angeles episode three. He refused to leave the military despite his injuries. After running the Army’s Wounded Warrior program for 26 years, he retired as Garrison Commander at Fort Belvoir in Virginia.

On the show, LL Cool J plays Sam Hanna. Aiden, Sam’s son, returns in episode four. Aiden played a role in last season’s introduction, but you didn’t see him. Rather, Sam and Callen (Chris O’Donnell) are seen looking up at the sky, with Sam raising his fist to acknowledge Aiden flying a fighter jet overhead.
