Michael Weatherly, best known for his role as Tony DiNozzo on the CBS drama NCIS, has shared a touching tribute to a fellow actor he worked with on the recently concluded series Bull.
Michael Weatherly’s work diary has become much more open since the CBS drama Bull ended earlier this year after six drama-filled seasons. Weatherly’s role as Dr. Jason Bull came after he said goodbye to the character of Tony DiNozzo on the long-running cr1me drama NCIS, and it’s safe to say fans of both shows have been eager to see what the actor is up to now that he’s left both iconic roles.
Weatherly has been updating fans on how he’s spending his downtime since leaving Bull in his latest social media update.
The NCIS star recently shared a short clip from the golf course with his 469.4k Twitter followers.
In the video, he says, rather breathlessly, “Illegal use of camera, crazy haired because I put sunblock in it… fifth hole.”
The NCIS star captioned the photo, “Summer golf with a porkuswine hairdo in effect.” “Happy Fourth of July!”
While hundreds of fans quickly expressed their condolences, one person in particular prompted a touching tribute from the former NCIS star.
“A man of leisure now that you don’t have a 5 a.m. call time!” Geoffrey Blake responded to Weatherly.
Blake first appeared on Bull in the first season, opposite Weatherly in the episode The Woman in 8D.
After making light of their long work days, Weatherly responded, “Correct sir. Taking it one hot day at a time…”
He then expressed his gratitude to Blake, saying, “Hope you are doing well and having some leisure yourself.”
“I enjoyed working with you!” Weatherly ended his eulogy to his former co-star.
Blake appeared as Oscar Weber in the episode in which the two starred.
While Weatherly went on to appear in every subsequent episode of Bull, Blake went on to work on shows like DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, Grimm, and the epic drama Godfather of Harlem.
According to IMDb, Weatherly’s work diary appears to be open to the public.
According to the website, Weatherly does not appear to have any upcoming on-screen projects since leaving Bull.
However, one role that many cr1me TV fans will undoubtedly hope to see is a return to NCIS.
Tony DiNozzo, after all, is still alive and well in the NCIS universe, currently residing in Paris with his other half Ziva David (Cote de Pablo).
NCIS has already been renewed for a historic 20th season.
While series lead Mark Harmon has left NCIS, the show still has many characters who worked with Tony during his tenure.
Sean Murray and Brian Dietzen, who play Timothy McGee and Jimmy Palmer, respectively, are close friends with Tony.
With nothing confirmed, fans will have to cross their fingers that Tony will appear again on NCIS.
