Bridget Moynahan is in a good place in terms of love, years after her breakup from pro-athlete Tom Brady.
Following their two-year relationship, Moynahan revealed she was three months pregnant shortly after their split. Now that their son Jack is 16, Moynahan has discovered her happily ever after.
Journey as a Single Mother
In 2008, Moynahan shared with Harper’s Bazaar her journey as a single mother, saying, “I never thought I would raise a child alone.” The actress admitted the experience was a challenge, especially as someone who believed in marriage before children. “I’m a traditional girl… it was hard to accept this was how I’d have a family,” she said.
Relationship with Tom Brady
Moynahan and Brady ended their relationship amicably in late 2006. Soon later, she discovered she was pregnant. Brady had recently started dating Gisele Bündchen, complicating matters. Moynahan later described the incident as “traumatic” because of the overwhelming media coverage.
Brady and Bündchen wed in 2009 and had two children, Benjamin and Vivian, before divorcing in 2022. Bündchen, in her memoir, reflected on learning of Moynahan’s pregnancy early in her relationship with Brady, calling it a challenging time.
Moynahan Loves Being a Mom
Despite the challenges, Moynahan embraced motherhood. Her 2019 book Our Shoes, Our Selves detailed the difficulties of being in the public eye during her pregnancy. However, she’s often spoken about the joy of raising Jack, calling him a genius and cherishing her role as a mother.
Meeting Andrew Frankel
Moynahan met Andrew Frankel through common acquaintances and became engaged in April 2015. They married later that year in a private ceremony at Wolffer Estate Vineyard in New York, with attendees encouraged to donate to charity rather than give presents. The couple’s blended family, which includes Frankel’s three sons, provides a loving home for Jack.
Reflecting on her journey, Moynahan shared gratitude for the extended family surrounding her son. “My son is surrounded by love,” she said. Her resilience and ability to embrace life’s twists make her an inspiring figure for many.
