Could Agent Sam Hanna Replace Jessica Knight in NCIS Season 22?

With NCIS ready to return for season 22, fans are excited about the idea of Agent Sam Hanna replacing Agent Jessica Knight. In the season 21 finale, Jessica Knight (Katrina Law) accepted a promotion to become the new REACT chief training officer at Camp Pendleton, which took her away from the team and her partner, Jimmy Palmer. As she adjusts to her new career, someone will need to fill her position.

Given the recent cancellation of NCIS: Hawaii, Agent Sam Hanna (LL Cool J) might be the perfect candidate. Sam, a staple in NCIS: Los Angeles for all 14 seasons, smoothly transitioned into life on NCIS: Hawaii, showcasing his adaptability within the franchise. With no other projects lined up, LL Cool J could seamlessly step into Jessica’s role.

However, this proposed move would go against the show’s tradition of having a female lead on the team. NCIS has had strong female leaders from the beginning, including Caitlin “Kate” Todd (Sasha Alexander), Ziva David (Cote de Pablo), Ellie Bishop (Emily Wickersham), and, most recently, Jessica Knight.

One way to maintain a strong female presence would be to also bring over Agent Jane Tennant (Vanessa Lachey) from NCIS: Hawaii. With Agent Alden Parker (Gary Cole) injured and possibly needing time off, Jane could step in as the team leader temporarily. This would allow for both Sam Hanna’s expertise and a continued strong female presence on the team.

Could two popular characters from NCIS: Hawaii find a new home on NCIS? Fans will have to wait and see what happens in season 22.

  1. The NCIS team needs a young strong female lead not another older NCIS agent. The show also needs a young male NCIS agent (a La Tony).

  2. Trying to find a role for Sam Hanna is the wrong move to put it mildly! Jessica Knight was cute but too cute for this kind of role – she didn’t work out on Hawaii 5.0 because of it. Need a good looking tough cookie for the role – no “foo foo” will work!
