For the first time ever, there will be a major crossover in the NCIS franchise – and it will endanger members of all three teams!

NCIS, NCIS: Hawai’i, and NCIS: Los Angeles will join forces for one personal, high-stakes case in a three-hour crossover event on CBS on Monday, January 2, requiring some scheduling changes. NCIS premieres at 8/7c, followed by Hawai’i at 9/8c and LA at 10/9c. (The first two shows are moved up an hour, while LA is moved from its regular Sunday night time slot.) Cast members from all three shows can be seen in the photo above on the set of NCIS’ lab.

The three teams will work together to take down a mysterious hitman. The various NCIS divisions gather in Washington, D.C., to honor a beloved FLETC (Federal Law Enforcement Training Center) professor who taught many members of each squad. However, on the eve of the celebration, the professor is discovered d3ad of an apparent suicide, despite the fact that his former students suspect foul play.

They discover the aforementioned mysterious hitman while investigating his past, and the more they dig into it, the bigger the targets on their backs become. Team members are kidnapped unexpectedly, and it will take all of the agents working together to bring down the assassin and save their own.

It starts with “Too Many Cooks” on NCIS, in which the agents travel to D.C. to attend the professor’s retirement party and begin the investigation into his d3ath. Chris O’Donnell (G. Callen) and LL Cool J (Sam Hanna) are from Los Angeles, and Vanessa Lachey (Jane Tennant) and Noah Mills are from Hawaii (Jesse Boone).

That leads into “Deep Fake” on NCIS: Hawai’i, where Tennant, Dr. Jimmy Palmer (NCIS’ Brian Dietzen), and Sam are kidnapped by a woman claiming to be a CIA agent and demanding information from the team. Meanwhile, Jesse, Ernie Malik (Jason Antoon), Tori Anderson, and Alden Parker (NCIS’ Gary Cole) learn about an asset who arrived in Hawai’i and may be linked to several overseas assassinations. O’Donnell from NCIS: Los Angeles also makes an appearance.

It all comes to an end in NCIS: LA’s “A Long Time Coming” (which is an apt way to describe this crossover). While searching for Hollace Kilbride (Gerald McRaney), Devin Rountree (Caleb Castille) and Fatima Namazi (Medalion Rahimi) are ambushed. They learn from the dark web that every member of the team has a $200,000 bounty on their head. The NCIS team must save Rountree and find Kilbride while being pursued by every cartel, hit man, gang, and psychopath. Cole and Wilmer Valderrama (Nick Torres) from NCIS and Lachey and Yasmine Al-Bustami from Hawai’i are both crossing over.

“We are thrilled to finally have the long-awaited, first-ever NCISverse crossover to share with our devoted fans,” Amy Reisenbach, executive vice president of current programming at CBS, said in a statement. “The franchise’s popularity, longevity, and ongoing success is a testament to the immense talent of the casts and writing and producing teams who bring these shows to life.” They devised an exciting story for this epic three-hour event that creatively brings together all three NCIS teams for fans to enjoy in one night and beyond.”
