Mark Harmon, Pauley Perrette, Michael Weatherly, and others may no longer be on NCIS, but their former co-stars would welcome their return.

Brian Dietzen, who plays Dr. Jimmy Palmer and has also written episodes for the long-running CBS show, is more than willing to incorporate any plot from his former co-star back into the show.

Speaking with TV Line about the story arcs he didn’t get to do due to cast member departures, he said he’d be “ecstatic” to get the chance.

“I adore a lot of these characters.” Gibbs [Mark], Tony [Michael Weatherly], Ziva [Cote de Pablo], and Abby [Pauley] are all obvious. “All of these voices are legendary,” he said.

“So if any of these were to come back, I would be ecstatic to write for any of them,” the star added.

“Writing for Tony and being able to have those jokes and then having the know-it-all attitude but with the heart of gold underneath would be fantastic,” Brian said of each of the actors’ characters.

For fifteen years, Mark and Pauley were co-stars.

“To have Abby’s energy in there, but also her heart that is as big as the sky,” he added, thinking of Pauley and Mark.

“And, of course, Gibbs, whenever you want to really turn on some emotion in our show, you crack just a hair that we can see, and it’s amazing entertainment.”

Brian has been on the show for nearly two decades.

Though Pauley has since retired from acting, and Mark hasn’t starred in any new projects since his departure from the show in 2021 – Michael subsequently starred in Bull, which ended in 2022 – Brian maintained: “I would welcome the opportunity to work with any of them again.” It would be fantastic.”

Brian has been with NCIS since 2004, while Michael, Pauley, and Mark joined in 2003 and left in 2016, 2018, and 2021, respectively.
