In the following episode, NCIS LOS ANGELES leader G Callen receives a visit from an old friend and admits that he is still concerned about the whereabouts of Operations Manager Hetty Lange.

A new promo for NCIS: Los Angeles season 13 episode 13, All the Little Things, has been released, and it could spell trouble for the show’s beloved Operations Manager Hetty Lange (played by Linda Hunt). Hetty hasn’t appeared on the popular CBS action drama since last year, which has Special Agent in Charge G Callen (Chris O’Donnell) worried.

In the latest NCIS LA season 13 sneak peek, Callen meets Anna Kolcheck (Bar Paly).

The senior agent admits that he is still concerned about his boss Hetty’s safety, who has become one of the most important people in his life since joining the task force.

Hetty eventually rescued Callen from the streets after he attempted to steal a car after growing up in several foster homes without knowing his first name.

Hetty has been like a surrogate mother to Callen during his time with NCIS, and if he learns she is in danger, he may have to act quickly.

In the new trailer, Callen finally reunites with his on-again, off-again girlfriend Anna, but the agent clearly has other things on his mind.

“Does this have anything to do with Hetty?” Anna inquires.

“Are you concerned about her safety, or do you fear that if something happens to her, you’ll never learn about your past?”

Callen pauses for a moment before admitting, “Probably both.”

Since revealing in season three that she was the CIA handler for Callen’s mother, Hetty has been the most visible link to his past.

While he now knows his birth name, Grisha, Callen has been trying to piece together his family history with Hetty’s help.

If something happens to NCIS OM, much of his past may have to be kept hidden.

“Look, I don’t know what happened, but I know she loves you a lot,” Anna assures Callen. I’d even go so far as to say like her own son.”

Callen responds, “A mother who manipulates her own son?”

Despite the fact that Hetty is the closest thing Callen has to a mother, their relationship has had its ups and downs.

Later in his NCIS career, Hetty finally revealed that she had been protecting him from the Comescus, a dangerous Romanian organized cr1me family.

As the series progresses, Callen may discover that Hetty has been keeping more secrets from him.

“All mothers manipulate their children,” Anna says. “How else are they going to get them to do anything?”

“Do you ever wonder what your life would have been like if Hetty hadn’t found you?” she asks.

“Yeah, I think about it sometimes,” Callen admits. What would I be doing, where would I be? It’s sometimes the Florida Keys, and sometimes it’s Alaska. Idaho’s farm.”

Hetty may have saved Callen’s life, but she has also put him in danger on multiple occasions.

If Hetty is sent on another dangerous mission, he may be forced to put his life in danger once more to ensure her safety.
