As Turkey Trot introduced a new member of Jessica Knight’s family, NCIS season 20 delivered one of its most intense and hard-hitting episodes to date.

During the latest episode of NCIS on CBS, Jessica Knight (played by Katrina Law) reconnected with her sister Robin for Thanksgiving lunch (Lilan Bowden). But, in true NCIS fashion, the reunion was never going to be quiet, and Knight and Kasie Hines (Diona Reasonover) had no idea they’d be held up at gunpoint. That is, until newcomer Charlie (David Blue) joined the fray.

The episode began with a massive explosion involving a Thanksgiving Day float, leading the team to believe that someone was shooting at the admiral serving as grand marshal before accidentally blowing up the feature.

Jessica tried everything she could to use the incident as an excuse to avoid lunch with her sister and her new man, but after some wise words from Parker (Gary Cole) and the team, Knight decided family came first.

Kasie accompanied Knight to the meal with Robin and her fiancé Charlie, only to regret her decision when the siblings began bickering.

However, things took a darker turn when it was revealed that Charlie had been aiming for Knight rather than the float during the race due to her connection to his brother’s d3ath.

Charlie had used Robin to reach Jessica and exact revenge on his brother, who had d1ed while Jessica was working as a hostage negotiator.

Meanwhile, Torres (Wilmer Valderrama), Palmer (Brian Dietzen), and their colleagues had pieced together the puzzle after viewing security footage of the float explosion to conclude Charlie was their man.

Jessica, her sister, and Kasie had now been taken as hostages while Charlie cried and pleaded for answers.

Jessica was able to empathize with Charlie, insisting that she had never forgotten the fateful day involving his brother and emphasizing how hard it had hit her even now.

The team gathered around Robin’s rental apartment as Jessica bought time, and while Charlie managed to get a shot off, Jessica was able to subdue him before the team could enter and take him away.

Things ended on a positive note for the bickering sisters, and Law’s performance in the episode has prompted fans all over the world to applaud her delivery.

The on-screen chemistry between the two sisters has also left many fans hoping that Bowden and Blue will be given more screen time following their impressive debuts.

“I love Jessica and her sister,” tweeted @captxncarter. That was so honest! This season, I’m hoping to see more of Jess’ family dynamics #ncis.”

“Oh, @katrinalaw and @yourfriendLilan playing dysfunctional sisters is something I didn’t know I needed!” exclaimed Alyssa Lopez.

“The casting of @katrinalaw & @yourfriendLilan as sisters might be one of the best ever #NCIS,” Colleen Harris said.

Elsewhere, “@katrinalaw deserves a standing ovation, an Emmy, and every other award ever for this scene,” said @fbi zibell. One of the best performances I’ve ever seen.”

Not only do fans want to see more of Robin on-screen, but Bowden herself shared a sweet message about her time on NCIS.

“Meet Robin, the wild child sister of Special Agent Jessica Knight on NCIS!!” she wrote on Instagram.

“Had a lot of fun making this episode, written by @dionareasonover and @mostxsw, with @david blue and directed by @lionelc1.” (sic)

Could Bowden reprise his role as Robin elsewhere in Season 20?
