For more than a decade, Sean Murray and Pauley Perrette co-starred in NCIS. Sean Murray first appeared on the show in 2003 (season 1, episode 7) and Pauley Perrette left in 2018. As is often the case with long-running shows, the cast members grow accustomed to one another — for better or worse.
Perrette had some disagreements with the show’s executive producer and lead actor Mark Harmon near the end of her tenure, which may have contributed to her departure (alongside other reported factors). But how did she get along with the rest of the cast? Did the actors who played Abby Sciuto and Timothy McGee get along as well as their characters?

Murray discussed Perrette’s departure with CinemaBlend, noting that the show has managed to adjust to her absence because the series has always been adaptable. Diona Reasonover has stepped in as the Forensic Scientist for the Major Case Response Team. And, despite her accomplishments, Sean Murray can sense Pauley Perrette’s absence. He mentioned how difficult it is to pass up the opportunity to work with a friend.
We adore Pauley, but it was her decision, and everyone has the right to make their own. It’s difficult not to collaborate with a friend. It’s heartbreaking. You know, you have your moments, but you make new friends and everything is fine.

Murray told CinemaBlend that despite the fact that they are no longer working together, he and Perrette remain close friends. Although Abby Sciuto and Timothy McGee are no longer close, Murray and Perrette remain linked.
‘NCIS’ has always had the ability to roll with the punches.
While the cast members are feeling Perrette’s absence, the show will go on, and it will most likely succeed. When Michael Weatherly left, the show’s formula had to change: McGee gradually rose through the ranks, becoming more confident and capable on the field.
When Ziva left, Eleanor Bishop took her place, and while it’s difficult to live up to original cast members, the NCIS writers know how to introduce new characters without replicating their predecessors. Despite casting changes, the show has stood the test of time. However, if Mark Harmon ever decides to leave the show, it may be best to leave the show entirely.
