Henrietta “Hetty” Lange is without a doubt one of the most popular characters on the long-running cr1me drama NCIS: Los Angeles. While we can’t reveal too much about this mysterious special agent, we can learn why he was temporarily removed from the show. Let’s get started on the investigation.
It was supposed to be business as usual when NCIS: Los Angeles returned for its tenth season in the fall of 2018. But, just before the season premiere, the writers were forced to address some off-screen issues, including the absence of a certain Hetty Lange, which was caused by the sudden unavailability of actress Linda Hunt.
According to TMZ, Hunt was driving an SUV in Hollywood on July 2nd, 2018 when she allegedly collided with a car and then collided with another SUV while attempting a left turn. The other drivers were only slightly hurt, but Hunt was taken to the hospital.
The following day, she issued a statement to People magazine:
“I’m happy to report that I’m doing well and have no serious injuries.” Thank you so much for your kind words! “I’m excited to begin production on NCIS: Los Angeles later this summer.”
However, when Season 10 of NCIS premiered, there was no sign of Hetty, leaving fans to wonder why. Then, in November 2018, Hunt sent out an update to her followers:
“Though I had hoped to resume playing Hetty at the start of the season, I needed some extra time to recover. I hope to return later in the season.”
